Introduction to my new blog: Janis' Knitting & Fiber Fun Blog

Dear Knitting Friends and Fiber Lovers,

I'm starting the New year 2014 with my first Blog post ever!  Over 2000 customers know me as the owner of Janis Campbell Knitting Studio.  My shop is in my home in Russell, Kentucky.  My customers and knitting friends come from all over the world.

I've met many of you at Fiber events like STITCHES (East, West and Midwest).  Others I've met through your orders placed through Tahki Stacy Charles, Clover-USA, Knitting Fever, and Amazon (as Island Cottage books) .  Some of you I know through Ravelry, and other fiber events in various places.  Some of you found me by Google search for a yarn!  My website is www.janiscampbellknitting.samsbiz.com

My adventures with fiber of all kinds began when my mother first let me play with the fabric scraps from her sewing.  Oh did I adore her for giving me bits and pieces to play with.  Soon I was creating doll clothes for my tiny little doll. It continued when my big sister taught me to crochet in the second grade. I learned to knit when my Fifth grade teacher involved our class in knitting bandages that the Red Cross sent to Africa.  (This was decidedly not fun!)

I went on to involve myself in embroidery, sewing by hand and machine, crewel embroidery, weaving, quilting, etc.  If it is fiber, I love it!  I want to share my lifetime of fun with fiber with you, and hear about your's too.  I'd like this to be the place where I show what I am knitting now and give you space to do the same.  We can share our triumphs and work out our challenges with patterns, fitting, colors, and fibers.  If it's made with fiber, we can explore it here!

Please follow me on this adventure.  Happy Knitting!
Motto: A day without Fiber Fun is like a day without sunshine. Janis
